The Corporation of Maison St-Dominique provides decent, affordable
housing and psych-social and community support. The dwelling and social
intervention are integral parts of the lease and cannot be dissociated.
At present the resource includes four houses :
MAISON ST-DOMINIQUE
Twenty six women and men live in this house. There are 22 rooms (one
resident per room) divided into five units. Each unit has a kitchen,
toilet and bathroom. Within the units the residents share the housekeeping
tasks. There are also three studios, one apartment (2 1/2), a community
room and a T.V. room.
MAISON VILLERAY
There are 24 people (women and men) living in this house. Each person
has his/her own studio equipped with a refrigerator, a small stove (without
oven) and a bathroom. There is also a community room and a T.V. room.
MAISON ST-DENIS
MDenis, where priority is given to women, has eleven studios and five
apartments (some are furnished and others are semi-furnished). There
is a community room.
MAISON ST-HUBERT
This house will accommodate ten men and women. It has 8 rooms, where
the residents must share kitchens and bathrooms, and 2 studios.
HOW THE RESIDENCES ARE MANAGED ?
These four residences are managed by a Board of Directors. The members
include residents, the Director and Assistant Director of Maison St-Dominique,
representatives of other organizations and volunteers.
