Maison St-Dominique (MSD) is a non-profit organization established
in 1987. We offer affordable housing to single, economically disavantaged
women and men who wish to be independant, but need help in order to
reach this goal.
Therefore, MSD offers housing AND psychosocial support. These services
are part of the lease and cannot be separated.
MSD can be considered as a tool in promoting one=s autonomy. Usually,
this process has already begun when a person is admitted at MSD. Each
person must be able to attend to his minimal, basic daily needs: self-care,
meals, medication, appartment, etc.
Our councillors are present from Monday to Friday between 8:00 A.M.
to 4:00 P.M. In case of emergency, they may be reached by cell phone.
Presently, MSD accomodates 75 residents in 4 residences. Three of these
residences are co-ed and the fourth is available to women only.
We offer private rooms with shared bathrooms and kitchens; studios with
kitchenette and bathroom included; small appartments are found only
in the residence for women. All but one residence has a community room
available to residents.
For admission, people may contact MSD on their own or they may be referred
by someone else.
MSD promotes the participation and collaboration of each resident.
